Back to Gardens I Have Visited Page Staten Island Botanical Garden
Address:
1000 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY 10301
My family and I have been to the Staten Island Botanical Garden twice. Both the garden and parking are free but there is a fee for the The New York Chinese Scholar's Garden and Connie Gretz's Secret Garden. You get tickets for these at the gift shop.
Here's the entrance to the Staten Island Botanical Garden.

These are some of the flowers growing near the entrance of the garden

We saw this car in the parking lot, probably being used in the wedding we saw later that day.

Here's the bridal party having photos taken.

Heritage Rose Garden
The first garden we passed was the Heritage Rose Garden. Here's the entrance to the Rose Garden.

Conservatory (The Carl Grillo Glass House)
Even though the Staten Island Garden isn't that large, it has a Conservatory. Both the Conservatory and the grounds around it are very beautiful.

Inside the Conservatory
Both times we were at the Staten Island Botanical Garden, the orchid room was locked. However, we could at least look through the glass doors.

Scenes Around the Garden

The Allee
This walkway creating a shaded path connects the Lion's Sensory Garden with the Chinese Scholars Garden.

Chinese Scholar's Garden
You have to pay for the Chinese Scholar's Garden but it is definitely worth it. There are an amazing amount of photo ops in the Chinese Garden. Here are some views around the garden.

My favorite of the Chinese Garden is that they have arranged the windows so that they look like paintings.

As we were walking back to our car to go home, we passed this lake with some very interesting sculpture.
