The Presby Memorial Iris Garden is dedicated to growing irises and therir season and there bloom season only runs from mid-May to the 1st week in June. We went the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend during their annual Family Garden Party. Although the garden is free, they asked us to give a donation of $5 per person.
Presby claims the largest and most diverse collection of irises in the world, with 3,000 different registered varieties. I know that I saw more irises in more colors than I had ever seen before. My son overheard one man say that he had come all the way from Florida to see this garden.
Walking through this iris garden with its masses of irises and their beautiful colors was like walking through a Monet painting.
There were many people out enjoying the irises.
Since it was family day in the garden, there were many children. Here is a father and son enjoying the irises.
I just loved this woman's garden hat.
There were people at the garden answering questions and I also saw someone giving a tour.
There were certainly lots of cameras at the garden.
If you would like to visit Presby Iris Garden next Family Garden Party day, you can bring your pet.
Besides the beautiful irises, there was also live music throughout the day.
There was also a representative from the Turtle Back Zoo.
