Back to Gardens I Have Visited Page Longwood GardensAddress: Longwood Gardens is the largest botanical garden my family and I have visited. It would probably take all day to see everything in this garden. There are many photo opportunities and I am still sorting through all the flower design ideas that I have gotten there Flower Garden Walk One of the first gardens we saw after we entered Longwood Garden was teh Flower Garden Walk. When we were there, some of the flowers we saw werecanna, lantana, zinnias, petunias and phlox.
Large Lake One of the loveliest, most natural looking place at Longwood Gardens is around the Large Lake. My favorite is the gazebo called the Love Temple. I think you can't take a bad photo of it.
Here's nother view of this lake with a picturesque bridge in the background.
While we were there we saw several groups of school children. Longwood Gardens is a perfect place for a field trip.
Rose Garden and Topiary Garden The Rose Garden and the Topiary Garden are right next to each other.
Some of the Longwood gardeners were pruning the rose bushes while we were there.
Here are a few examples of the Topiary Garden
Italian Water Garden The Italian Water Garden is a very formal garden. The water in the fountains go up and down, stop and start as if the water is dancing. The fountains run from mid-April to mid_October.
Longwood Conservatory One of my favorite places at Longwood Gardens is the Conservatory because it's always beautiful regardless of the weather. The front of the Conservatory
Here are some photos of the insde of the Conservatory
The Music Room with the Organ
There is an outside courtyard where they have water lily ponds.
My favorite room in the Conservatory is the Orchid Room. Many of my orchid designs have been inspired by photos I have taken here.
Chime Tower Very picturesque with a waterfall in front of it.
Almost every botanical garden we have visited, we have seen a bridal couple having pictures taken and Longwood Garden was no exception. We found them posing here by the waterfall near the Chime Tower.
